A lot of people think that a cold sore and a canker sore is the same thing, but they are not.

- You should use over the counter painkillers like aspirin or ibuprofen, they can help since the pain from cold sores can be quite severe…
- Avoid salty and acidic food, since this will irritate the cold sore and will be very painful
- Protect your lips from the sun and apply sun screen to them, since this will protect you from sun induced cold sores…
- Please keep cold sores to your self… since they are very contagious, avoid kissing, sharing towels and cups, and wash your hands frequently.
You should always consult a doctor in order to help you further, especially if you suffer from cold sores often.
